The rotary blade doesn t drag on the material the same way the standard fine point blade does.
Use your hand to gauge the stickiness.
The fabricgrip mat is a bit thicker and stronger than the other mats but isn t as sticky it s intended to just keep the fabric in place as the rotary blade or bonded fabric blade travels over it.
If your cricut mat is just a little dirty it might be best to start with a baby wipe to gently wash away any material build up that s been gathering.
The adhesive on the pink mat is designed to hold the fabric but release it easily.
Use the pink mat for fabric and crepe paper.
We still want some stickiness just not too much.
Make sure that you use alcohol and bleach free wipes if you don t you might find that the wipes permanently destroy any hope of making your cricut mat sticky again.

When you first get your mat or after you restick your mat it will probably be too sticky especially for light or medium weight materials.

If you can see that your fabric extends outside of the adhesive square simply use a ruler and a hand held rotary cutter to trim it.
If you notice that your fabric is stretched or wrinkled simply pull the fabric up and reposition it.
Repeat until lint has coated the mat just a little bit.
Like i said above the pink mat s adhesive is totally different than the adhesive on the other mats and you will ruin your mat.
Secure the edges of your cricut mat using masking or painter s tape.
It will wrinkle and may also retract during cutting both of which may ruin your cut results.
Further durability of the mat will depend a lot on your method of cleaning.
Apply plain rubbing alcohol or goo gone on the surface then go over it with a scrapper.
It s important to not make the edges sticky so they won t ruin the cutting machine.
